The Egyptian Great Pyramids

Three enormous stone pyramids dubbed the Giza pyramids rise out of the desert dunes not far from Cairo, Egypt. Many archaeologists, historians, painters, and tourists were all drawn to them. Three ancient Egyptian monarchs’ tombs are represented by these enormous structures.

The Great Pyramid of Khufu is the oldest pyramid. The last surviving example of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, it is the largest of the three. It was 146 meters tall when it was constructed, 4,500 years ago. According to scientists, it was completed about 2560 B.C. after taking roughly 20 years to construct. Nearby is the well-known Sphinx statue. The antiquity and significance of this ancient statue, which features a lion’s body and a man’s head, are still up for debate among experts.

How were the massive stone blocks transported from the quarry where they were cut to the construction site in ancient times? How did they lift them up to the upper elevations of the monuments? What kind of equipment did these ancient builders employ to carve granite-hard stone? Well, people who study pyramids developed many theories about how they were constructed. However, the exact method used to build them remains a mystery to this day.
